Rick Meltzer, also known as Fredric Meltzer (commonly referred to as Rick in his campaign materials), is a candidate running for the City of Port St. Lucie City Council, District 1, in the upcoming 2026 election. Meltzer announced his candidacy for the nonpartisan office in early February 2026.
Rick Meltzer is not a career politician. He has spent years on the sidelines helping shape the lives of young people in our city. Whether it was I9, Pop Warner, PSL city youth baseball and basketball leagues, or John Carroll football, Rick’s helped the youth build character, confidence, and leadership.
Rick Meltzer’s wife, Patsi, has also been a tremendous part of the community. She is a local custom home builder, but was also the owner of a local cheerleading gym, LeaderCheer. Rick and Patsi have 3 amazing children (Madison, Nicholas, and Joshua), who are all supportive of this new journey into politics and are eager to see their father get to work helping their community.
Rick decided to run because he believes public service is about the people, not politics. His passion has always been helping others succeed, and he is ready to bring that same dedication and work ethic to the City Council. Rick is committed to smart growth, strong neighborhoods, safe communities, and opportunities for families, especially the next generation he has spent years mentoring.
