Neighbors first. Not politicians.

Meet Rick

A Coach, A Mentor, A Community Leader

Rick Meltzer isn't a career politician. He's a husband, a dad, and a coach who's lived in District 1 for more than 20 years, raising three kids here with his wife, Patsi.

For 17 of those years, you could find him on a sideline somewhere in Port St. Lucie. I9 Sports. Pop Warner. City baseball and basketball leagues. John Carroll High School football. He's helped hundreds of local kids build character, confidence, and leadership.

Rick's running because public service should be about people, not politics. He's watched City Hall treat overspending and runaway growth like someone else's problem. He's done watching.

"

I've spent 17 years teaching kids to show up, work hard, and take responsibility. City Hall should play by the same rules.

— Rick Meltzer

The Plan

Common Sense Comes Down to Three Things

Rick's plan for District 1 is built on three A's: Affordability, Accountability, and Accessibility.

01

Affordability

"We have a spending problem, not a revenue problem."

Property taxes are too high, and they're pricing young families out of owning a home here. PSL families make tough calls at their kitchen tables every month. City Hall should have to do the same. Rick will push for an item-by-item review of the city budget and cut what doesn't serve residents.

02

Accountability

"No more delayed or over-budget projects."

Accountability goes both ways. Rick works for you, and you should hold him to it. And when contractors do business with this city, they'll meet their deadlines and stick to their budgets, or answer for it.

03

Accessibility

"The 24-Hour Rule."

Every resident deserves to be heard. Call, email, or text Rick and he'll do his absolute best to get back to you within 24 hours. Not a form letter. A real response from the person you elected.

Smart Growth

Protecting the Place We Call Home

01

Infrastructure Before Rooftops

Developers shouldn't get to build new neighborhoods before the roads and utilities exist to support them. Rick will demand infrastructure comes first, before a single new rooftop gets approved.

02

Smart Zoning

Rick will push to slow down zero-lot-line approvals and stop the practice of cramming multiple homes onto single acres. Quality of life in our neighborhoods isn't up for sale.

03

Protecting Our Waterways

Rick wants to stop the chemical spraying that's been killing fish in our ponds and lakes. He'll push the city toward mechanical plant harvesting, a safer approach that can even bring in revenue.

If You've Ever Said "Somebody Should Do Something," Rick Is Your Somebody

A handful of neighbors decide local council races. Most people skip them — that's how taxes climb and projects blow past budget with nobody watching.

This August, be one of the neighbors who shows up.
